Really one of the best places to dine in Jericho, NY. The service here is incredible. Adam the manager is so attentive and always go above and beyond. I've come for lunch and dinner and the food and service is always on point. Thank you!

Have had some great dining experiences at Market Bistro! First off, kudos to them for having a following considering the location. It's in the back corner of a shopping center that is in no way visible from the road. Walking in you get the total gastropub/wine bar feel; lots of wood and beer taps, wine barrels on the wall, a shared table and the specials on a chalk board on the wall. Perfecto. My last visit included... market pickles, market greens (mesclun greens, shaved baby vegetable, lemon vinaigrette), meatballs (garlic toast/house preserved tomato sauce/pecorino), organic chicken (skillet roasted/jarnidere vegetables/spaetzle/herb pan jus) and a Chimay Tripel (or two). Everything was great and the service was on point. I'll be back!

The place is actually quite cool, great atmosphere. We got the corn fritters, they were a little dark and greasy for my taste but the other guests at our table enjoy them. I also got the black bean and avocado dip that was wonderful. I ordered the house salad with lemon vinaigrette dressing it was great very refreshing very fresh and crisp. I've been ordered as an entree the vegetable ravioli that was absolutely outstanding. Other guests in my party got the short ribs and the lamb chops everyone was very pleased with their meals and could not stop complimenting how good everything was.

A local favorite, quick, friendly, great food, great beer selection - how do you go wrong? There menu changes, so I suggest the specials. They also make a great burger.

Brought my wife for her birthday and she enjoyed it. Food was delicious. Had the flat bread (fresh ricotta, prosciutto, etc) for starter and I had short ribs and she had the Shrimp risotto. They had live music playing as well which we both enjoyed. If I had to give one bad point it was for missing the birthday candle on the dessert (cobbler) which I had asked for before. But our waiter was very nice and actually apologized before I even said anything, as it came out quicker than expected.. We let it slide because when we first sat down, the table had a slight wobble, he got down on his hands and adjusted the legs so it wouldnt wobble.. They were also very very busy, and that says alot about the place since it was a Wed night.. We'll definitely be back, in fact the wife was thinking about brunch this Sunday lol...

I've eaten here twice and it was equally great both times! I particularly LOVED the shrimp rissotto although I believe the menu changes frequently so I'm praying it's still there next time I go! We got a flight of beer both times too which was a good idea since their beer selection is extensive. I'm all for ambiance so I loved the dim lights and vibe I got from this place. Definitely will return soon as it's very local for me.

Five star review... This establishment has made my 5 Star list solely based on their beer selection. From India Pale Ales to Double Rich Russian Stouts. They also have local favorites like Brooklyn Summer Ale and their food isn't bad either wow...

After reading the reviews here, I came here for dinner with a friend. When we went inside, the host was busy talking on the phone. I wasn't too sure whether there was another area to go or if I had to wait for the host to finish talking on the phone...I had to to wait for the host. I wasn't amused. We sat down, I ordered grits & cheddar tots, mb caesar salad and dry rubbed murray's wings. Food is excellent. The wings, my goodness, absolutely try the wings. Crisp and juicy. Service was alright. Not to be picky, but the couple next to me dropped a plate and I saw a waiter practically running away so he won't it clean up. Okay, brushing something up is not that difficult but the fact that a waiter/waitress had to be called to get help...really? Good place though.

My boyfriend and I came here on a Saturday night and I can honestly say i had the best steak I've ever had. They cooked it the perfect temperature (medium rare) and the mash potatoes were thick and creamy just like how I like them. Our server was excellent and more then accommodating. We also met the manager Britney who came to see if our meal was ok (and also got us a table when we didn't have reservations) She was extremely friendly and easy to talk too. There signature drinks were also amazing. 5 stars hands down.

Go there quite often and the food never disappoints. Jackie makes a tasty cocktail and Adam is such a gentleman. A Burger and fries is an experience here, so try it.

Update. Minus 1 star. Market Bistro has lost its charisma. I reviewed this restaurant on 10/24/2013. My rating was 3 out of 5 stars. I have returned a few times since then with my husband, my daughter and friends. Not one of them want to return, and truth be told, nor do I. Why, do you ask? Attitude. Example - 1705 on a Friday night. Hello bartender! How are you this evening? We're having a staff meeting, what can I get you? Oh, I'm sorry, the door was open, are you closed? No. What can I get you? Do you have any Happy Hour specials? We're not that kind of place. Rewind. We're not that kind of place. WTF was that? Was it even necessary? How about the bartender try this: We don't have any Happy Hour price specials but we do have Dogfish Head 120 on tap! How awesome is that! And, I make a great martini too! No, she tried this - I'm getting back to the meeting. If you know what you want, fine. Otherwise, I'll be back in 15. Attitude. My friend just wanted to walk out. We probably should have. However we stayed. We ordered marinated olives for an appetizer, friend had steak and I had a braised meat dish. We looked over at the other tables and everyone had a bread basket. Friend asked Why didn't we get a bread basket? Reply - Because you didn't ask for one. Attitude. We didn't stay for desert. There are so many other choices on Long Island. I choose to go someplace where my patronage is well received.

Always good food, music and atmosphere ! Love the Tuna tartare delicious . Beet ravioli sounds weird but it's not . Scallops were plump juicy and fresh. Great neighborhood resturant.

Had dinner here tonite. Hubby had short ribs - very delicious. I had rock shrimp & crab with auricchio - very yummy. We both left hungry. We tried to have a conversation with our guests (we sat at a table for 4) - couldn't hear a thing. The acoustics are not very good for talking. Food is excellent. Servings are not enough. Prices are up there. Oh well, we were there on a recommendation from someone, but not a "cozy" atmosphere like I was expecting.

Complete waste of time. If I could leave no stars I would. The customer service and wait staff (including the pompous owner) will lead to the failure of this establishment. It's a shame because this place SHOULD have great potential based on its farm to table ideology however it is evident that it is simply a matter of time that this place will be another failing restaurant in the area. Food may be arguably decent but the consistent lack of customer service and rude staff leaves a bitter taste in your mouth sour enough to ruin the entire experience. It is such a shame that the owner can write feedback to all these reviews all day but fails to step up to the plate in person.

  • Nicole C.

Food was great, had the lamb chops which were good, and my husbands short ribs were done perfectly. However, I must say that each waiter/waitress was less than thrilled to be there.. Not a smile, kind of short attitude... That means a lot, and I must deduct for lack of enthusiasm from the waitress we had . Hopefully Market Bistro will rectify the sour faced waitstaff problem

  • Ryan D.

First off, the black bean and avocado dip with the housemade plantain chips was out of this world. I opted for a simple lunch, the mb burger, which was cooked exactly how I asked. I got the flourless chocolate cake for dessert with salted caramel ice cream -- and I'm not a chocolate cake guy -- but it was awesome. The chalkboard listing all the wines and beers was clearly visible regardless where you sit. The service is outstanding, the food is incredible.

  • Renee D.

Absolutely love this place. Great spot for lunch or dinner. I will admit, it can get expensive, however the food and service is definitely worth it. By far the best French onion soup I've ever had.

Really awful experience here tonight. Not quite sure what happened. Totally ignored at the bar after ordering a diet coke. Ordered the burger and then after another long wait came out crusted on the outside. Dry and flavorless inside. Bartender obviously did not care. To busy handling " regulars". Maybe the worst burger I've had in a long time. This place at one time was quite good the burger was too. Now it's off the list. Permanently.

Great environment, bustling bar area always stocked with interesting draught beers, wine barrels and dark wood accents all around, friendly staff, and delicious food (not incredible but good) All around great place to go out for a fun dinner that feels like you are in manhattan without the commute. Today was my second visit and I'm sure that I will be back. I really recommend the beer flight and the chocolate chip cookie sandwich for desert. Reminded me of the chipwich ice cream sandwiches from middle and high school, just much fancier and full of crumbly goodness.

Nicely done. Cool vibe. Nice flavor. Fun atmosphere. Grit tots??? At first, "huh" but $5 went for it. Glad I did. Nice dish. Bison sliders a little under. But generally when a temp isn't taken, med rare is normal. Let's not forget the awesome soft pretzel bites in the bread basket.. Very nice. Just not too much of a fan with the butter that is way too cold to spread. Service wAs good. Would like a little more attention to detail. But all in all. Great spot!!

Great food. I've been here twice. I had the short ribs and organic chicken. Both were very delicious. I would definitely be going back.

Saturday night and the food was devoured. I wouldn't say the food was amazing, just good. Service was slow with wide gaps between apps and entrees. Butter was super salty, kinda odd. I didn't care for the mussels app, it tasted off. The cod was mushy and maybe they pulled one on us because cod is usually big chunky flakes of fish. I would say the best dish was the scallops with artichoke, ramps, hedgehog mushrooms and spinach. Great ambiance and decor. Good place for date nite.

I did go with high expectations...LFI, its a restaurant in Jericho's ancient & unimpressive strip center. Neighboring the deli (that hasn't invested a dime into updating since well before this century - no joke!), Dolce Vita/Marshall's. The staff was very lax/unlearned in the menu - not to mention the fact they all seem to be 1st time servers. No salt on table because dishes contained ample amounts of the stuff - a rare critique from this salt-lover palette. Heavy menu options were as anticipated - oily, fatty, & foofie. With the exception of the lamb sliders & "salted" caramel ice cream," overpriced meal paired with bad service in a cold out-of-their-element establishment leave me never wanting more. Don't know how they're still getting such rave reviews - especially at that price

I have been coming here since it opened, and it is always my first choice when I think of going out to eat. My husband and I love it. Atmosphere is fun and food is ALWAYS delicious.

Trash spot, got the burger and wings very very over priced and just not good. Could tell they don't have quality here and the bartender seemed like he was doing me a favor. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you like to get ripped off. It tries to have like this bistro vibe but underperforms. I guess for the area it's good but that's why I find myself eating in brooklyn a lot more. Will never see me again that's a fact. It also has a terrible location I have no idea how people know it exists.

Never disappointed (with 3 small exceptions) ! I've been here several times now, and I've always left happy with a full belly =) The place was packed at 9pm on a Friday night, and lucky for us (we didn't have reservations), some couple didn't show up for their reservation so we got their table. It was late, so I didn't want to order too much food, so we just went with entree and dessert. I had the Parmesan Crusted Norwegian Cod (great!) and my boyfriend got their roasted chicken (yum!). We split their orange and cinnamon (?) creme brûlée...could have been more orange-y but still delish! Service was very good, as usual. Waiter was courteous, polite, warm and not overbearing. If I have to be nit-picky, here are some things that can be worked on: 1) the small bread pieces were rock hard on the bottom. I've had them before where they are wonderfully soft. 2) the sugar on the creme brûlée was a tad too thick...so it wasn't that wonderfully fragile, crisp sugar top that I love. It was like crunching a candy bar almost. Still tasty! And it wasn't warmed all the way through. The top layer was warmed from the crisp sugar, but the bottom of the dessert was cold 3) the butter...I hate hard butter! I mean, how hard is it to take butter out of the fridge an hour prior to service so that it's easily spreadable?! This is one of my biggest pet peeves of "nicer" restaurants. Overall, I'm a fan. I'm always happy to return to Market Bistro!

This place really kicks ass, I wish there were more places like it on Long Island! You only really find places like this in the city, which is a shame. I have been meaning to come here for a while and so glad I did tonight, especially because they have a really worthwhile $30 ($32 maybe?) prix fixe menu on Sunday which includes a full size (same as the what's on the regular menu) appetizer, entree, and dessert. The portions were huge too which is awesome. Not too big, just right. My family ordered mussels, the shrimp and grits, and arugula salad for appetizers; all were delicious. Probably the best mussels I've ever eaten to be honest. Everything just tasted so fresh. The castlevetrano olives on the arugula salad were so damn good too. We were off to a good start. For entrees, we had the rack of lamb, the burger, and Tuna. All were off the charts. It's great that this place serves creative, high-end, unique dishes using exceptional ingredients and flavors, and at the same time offers a straight up delicious burger and fries. We're not drinkers so I can't really speak to the alcohol, but I did glance at the drink menu and they definitely have a lot of tasty-looking cocktails, artisan beers, and versatile wine menu. Geez, I sound like I'm promoting the place in the newspaper or something, I tend to get a little carried away yelping sometimes. Lastly, the service was flawless, the place has a really comfortable vibe, and they play awesome music which is a really nice touch, Bob Marley, laid-back classic rock, etc. If you're a foodie, or even if you're not, you definitely have to get here asap.

Very disappointing. The napkins smelled sour. The plantains and chips were stale. The chicken wings had no flavor. The so-called blue cheese aioli was really just lemon flavored mayonnaise. The thai sauce tasted terrible! The bread was stale. The ravioli was drowning in oil. The avocado/bean dip had no flavor and with no chips to dip, it was ridiculous to even order it! The service could have been better, too.

Delicious! Service was a little slow but it was New Years day, so I don't blame them. It's in such an unassuming area, you would never know that there is a great restaurant in the middle of a strip mall behind Whole Foods. It's not a secret though, plenty of people know about Market Bistro. Always make a reservation if you plan on dining here! We started with the butternut squash and goat cheese ravioli. Very fresh pasta. I'm not a fan of goat cheese, but everything else about the dish is fantastic. We also had the tuna tartare. The chips is comes with are pretty salty, but it compliments the tuna nicely. For entrees, 4 of us had the salmon, and it did not disappoint. Perfectly cooked and paired well with the roasted veggies it came with. My father's cod was also perfectly cooked and delicious. My mom had the short ribs, which was tender and flavored nicely. Her dish was very warm and comforting on a cold day! BF had the shrimp and pasta. Somehow it tasted very light and delicious - how can pasta be light? We ended the evening with the warm chocolate cake with salted caramel ice cream. The ice cream was awesome, totally outshined the cake. They also have fantastic wine. I'm not a big wine drinker but the glass of red my brother had was smooth and lovely. Highly recommend!

This restaurant is in such a bland strip of stores but its actually very comforting inside with high ceiling heavy wood chairs and tables. Specials on the blackboard we came for lunch Waitress gave us water right away and asked if we wanted a beverage we saw lots of tables with bread basket and we awaited ours (but it never came) Deb's crock of french onion was very enjoyable and piping hot. Waitress told us it was made with chicken stock. Deb had a salad with beets and I had a fluke fish sandwich fish...was a piece of fish lightly seasoned on a bakery style bun with lettuce tomato and avocado nice an hot but the fish portion itself was lost in the big bun, it was tasty enough not crazy tasty but tasty fries were those shoestring type a little greasy ketchup and the asked for(on the side) tartar sauce was served in little cups cute food was plated nice it just was so outstanding great service was a little slow but very friendly we never did get a bread basket and we never bothered to ask so I guess its our fault desserts of bread pudding did sound tasty but we had to move on prices a little expensive the fish sandwich was 15 for lunch it needs to be a little cheaper and a little faster and this place could be awesome

Here's the problem with Market Bistro. In an area saturated with so mediocre restaurants, this initially comes off as being "special" first let me say this is a great space. Nice bar great atmosphere. Nice lighting. Good acoustics. And then look at the menu, which is different and city like. They have a nice wine list. But then you get down to the actual food. Which unfortunately is mediocre at best. That's not to say there aren't one or two things that stand out. A recent notable is the blackbean and avocado dip. But everything else is just "Ok". Is it bad? No. Is it good? It really is just okay. Just like most of the other crap around town. Is somebody ever going to open a really good restaurant in the Syosset Woodbury area ?to

so went to Maket Bistro again tonight and took the mother in law. I had the NY strip with a black truffle butter and a giant pile of shoestring fries and it was ridiculous good. Paired if with some red wine. I thought that was awesome enough and then I had the best desert ive had in ages. Lemon miringue almond tart. It was made with local lemons. It was so good . whomever came up with this desert , should get a raise. Mother inlaw had organic chiken and said it was fantastic. Shes from the UK and has her favorite restarants that we cover when shes here visiting. Se has already said shes going to forgo one of them so we can go back to Market Bistro one more time before she goes back on 4/29/15. And kudos to our waiter Ray. We adored him. What a joy to have him.

After the owner wrote me such a nice note because of my first visit not going so well, I decided to give Market Bistro another try when my friends and I were looking for a restaurant on the way to NYCB Theatre at Westbury. I am SO glad I did. Atmosphere...was even prettier at night. Service...was EXCELLENT. I think our waitress' name was Laura. She could not be nicer or more attentive. The SECOND our butts hit the seat, we had a bread basket on the table and in it was something that hadn't been there the first time around: Pretzel Bread. I want to go back just for that!!! Seriously, look at my reviews. I have really enjoyed restaurants but rarely give 5 stars even though I have had some awesome meals. I reserve that for really extra special experiences. Food...there were 3 of us and we decided to each order from the price fixed menu. WOW...not only were we all stuffed but the meals were beyond gourmet. They far surpassed anything I expected. I tasted everyone's meal and had I ordered any of the three, I would have been so happy. Here is everything I tried: Meatball appetizer (good), mussel appetizer (good), Baked Salmon entree (OUTRAGEOUSLY AMAZING!), Organic Chicken entree (OUTRAGEOUSLY AMAZING! Right up there with the chicken I had at the Culinary Institute of America), Long Island Duck Breast (OUTRAGEOUSLY AMAZING!), Local Macintosh Apple Crisp (Seriously delicious!) and MB Stuffed Brownie (the best brownie I ever had...a surprise in the middle that I won't spoil for you but let's just say, we all fell in love). Cost...While the bill came to $180 including tax and tip on 3 $32 meals, much of that was the drinks my friends had. So, while I was blown away that my portion of the bill was $60 for my $32 meal, that wasn't the fault of the restaurant. It was splitting the bill with drinkers! I thought the value of my meal was EXCELLENT. I will absolutely, without a doubt, be going back very soon.

Good food, even better people-watching. The food is very good (except the pickled veggie appetizer but that's most likely personal opinion). Cute atmosphere! Especially for being in a plaza.

This restaurant looks and feels like you are in the city, not a Long Island shopping center. I loved the industrial feel of the interior and the service was great. Great beer choices and delicious food too. I love that they have small plates so you can go for a drink and a snack. All the things we tried were unique and good. If only the prices were a little lower I would go often!

I would love to give this place 5 stars because the food and presentation was wonderful. Service wasn't great. There were 3 people in our party for lunch. We ordered the Cobb Salad which was loaded with chicken, avocado and all the other great ingredients found in a traditional Cobb Salad. Fresh and enough for 2 people. Another dish we ordered was the salmon which came over perfectly roasted and seasoned Brussel Sprouts. My sister had the black bean avocado dip with plantains as her meal which was delicious. Will try again since I am a big fan of West End Cafe their sister restaurant.

I Can't say a bad thing about Market Bistro - so it's in a Strip Mall, big deal - the food was good. We had a table for four be the window with plenty of lighting, and it was better than being in the center or in the back of the restruant where it was dark, very little lighting. Honestly, the place could use a little more overhead lighting over the tables - I like to see what I'm eating, and see the people I'm talking to. The bar area was very "trendy" looking with great lighting with lots of seating. We only ordered Small Plates: I ordered the Bison Sliders (2) that were cooked to perfection - a little pink in the center, they were not dry at all. My friends ordered the Spring Vegetable Ricotta Ravioli that was in a light butter sauce with a touch of garlic, my friends were happy with their dish. For desert we ordered the Pear Almond Tart with Ice cream and four forks. The desert was fresh and great tasting but too large for on e person. All and all, I would come back to Market Bistro if I am ever in the area.

I have eaten here twice. Once for my one-year wedding anniversary and the second for my husband's birthday. I have to say that both visits were among the finest dining experiences I have ever had in my life. The ambience is that of a trendy Manhattan restaurant with an industrial feel, but touched with rustic accents to make it warm and inviting, complimented by an eclectic and balanced lighting scheme. Each time, they had a prefix menu with constantly varied selections (seasonal, I believe). The mussels as an appetizer were abundant and fresh, served in a cast iron pot with a broth and bread that were out of this world. Expertly cleaned with no sand. The pasta was fresh and cooked to perfection. The Cabernet was so good that I had it both times and served in a huge glass the way it should be! Finally! The food makes this an amazing restaurant, but what makes Market Bistro truly unique are its owners and staff, who clearly understand exceptional customer service. My husband had reservations a week in advance and they mistakenly wrote down a party of 6 instead of 8 for an 8:30 reservation. This caused us to wait an additional 30 minutes, but when our table was ready, we were greeted with two appetizers and the owner standing there. He warmly greeted us and apologized for the wait and said the appetizers were on the house as well as our first round of drinks. You just don't see that kind of service anymore. It was absolutely exceptional. They had a few items that were out of stock on the prefix menu, but offered comparable alternate items from the main menu. It turned into one of the best birthdays we could have had together with our friends. Our friends were actually astounded by the excellent food and even more so by the service. Bravo, Market Bistro! You have a lifelong patron!

All I have to say is wow. This place is an absolute gem, my girlfriend and I had an amazing time coming here. The ambiance speaks for itself. The market bistro is so nice but you don't need to get to dressy when you go. The service is wonderful, everyone's is so nice and helpful makes you really enjoy your dinning experience. The menu and the food is to die for. We got the black bean and avocado dip to start and it was so fresh and delicious. I got the lamb pappardelle and my girlfriend got the organic chicken and we couldn't stop raving about it. They have a great wine me menu and they let us try a wine before we ordered it and that was great. We ordered the MB stuffed brownie and it was a layer of brownie with a melted marshmallow middle and then a brownie on top of it and a scoop of graham cracker ice cream. Forget about it one of the best deserts I ever had. The presentation was photo worthy. We will be back again and again I can promise that.

Highlights from the evening, amazing atmosphere, aesthetically fantastic an staff overall very friendly. We arrived early for our reservation so we sat at the bar and had a drink. My husband had a beer sampler (always a win) and I tried the Pear Martini served with some very tasty house made potato chips. After drinks we were seated at a table adjacent to the bar when there were several very nice open two tops available. Asked the hostess if we could be moved to a nice open table and she said fine but didn't bother to show us to a new table so we had to re-seat ourselves. Eventually are server Raoul made it to our table, it would have been nice if he introduced himself and told us about the specials. As it was pretty dark in there many people used cell phones to read the menus. He did offer to get us new drinks. My husband got another house beer and I tried the Rosemary Pomegranate Margarita (delicious and smelled so good during every sip). The busser came by an provided us with bread and water was very friendly and welcoming! We ordered the Cesar salad, beet salad, lobster roll and Ravioli. The salads were amazing, highly recommend ordering either one. Ravioli came with very tasty vegetables, unfortunately the ravioli itself had no flavor. The lobster roll was good but the highlight was the corn salsa served with it. The place is definitely not for children and can get quit noisy. They have updated to the fall menu now, so the website menu page is not up to date. Overall a solid 3. Come here if you are looking for a new trendy place to eat and try some interesting cocktails. Do not come if you are looking for a quite romantic spot.

We went here last Saturday for an early Mother's Day lunch. When I first walked in, I was extremely impressed with the wine barrel decor. Every item on the menu looked impressive, and I had a difficult time deciding. I decided to skip the duck grilled cheese for the healthier option, the salmon salad. The salmon salad, which was cooked perfectly, was served over a bed of spinach with caramelized onions, goat cheese, and a bacon vinaigrette. The food was fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. I will definitely return many times to taste the many menu items that caught my attention.

After being here, a few times, I recommended coming for lunch with a friend who had not tried as of yet. The lunch menu offers a few different options for persons of differing tastes. Vast selection of salads, fresh seafood, sandwiches, and appetizers. We shared a special of heirloom tomatoes and mozzarella (YUM) and the menu tuna tartar, which was very fresh. For main course, I was craving fresh pasta, so I ordered the house made ricotta stuffed ravioli with lemon sauce, butternut squash, and diced tomatoes. It did not disappoint. It was light and tasty. Could have eaten another order! My friend had ordered the special of sea scallop sliders on brioche buns with bacon and a really tasty sauce. Since I didn't use my calories on wine, I ordered the apple crisp with vanilla ice cream and caramel drizzle. Another YUM!!! Will definitely return.

I've been here twice now in the past few months and both times I've gotten the braised short ribs. Ah-mazing. Next time I will try out some wines while there also. All the food looks so pretty and tastes even better. Always crowded, not too crowded where you can't be seated. To me that just shows that it's a quality place. Making a reservation wouldn't hurt (can do it online!). Love that the foods and drinks are pretty much local. Like 1 of the specials last night was Tile Fish with Rottkamp Ratatouille! Rottkamps in the best farm stand in that area. I definitely recommend this place. Can't wait to try their other restaurant, West End Cafe in Carle Place.

It's funny that over and over again that the reviews on yelp for this establishment are critical of the staff and their attitude. It is a shame because the food is pretty good. My wife and were regulars last summer usually stopping in about 3 times per month. That all ended in July. We like to sit at the bar. Walked in at around 7 pm on a Friday nite and saw two empty seats at the bar. Told my wife to sit and I excused myself to use the men's room. When I returned she was still standing with a unhappy look on her face. There were now two setups at the previously empty spots. When I asked my wife what was up she told me the bartender told her that the two seats we reserved for a couple who had called ahead. Not really sure what that was all about. Been going to bars most of my adult life and I have never heard of seats at bars being reserved. ( seems to be a trend as it happened to us at George Martin grill fire a week later although they handled it better that the owner of Market Bistro) when we questioned the hostess was told that the couple that called were " regulars " and that we could wait for a table. When I called Adam the owner over he basically said the same thing to me. That this was an accommodation made for regulars. Asked him what we were since he always seemed to recognize me for the months I had been coming in. He had no answer. What really upset me was his take it or leave it attitude. No " sit tight I will get you something soon"etc. anyway my wife and I left and have not returned. Apparently we are not the only people this has happened to. Can only think that if the customer service at this place continues it will not be open much longer. To bad because I liked the food however it will not overcome bad customer service.

Always a great night out, wine, beers, bartenders, servers and food everything is on point and we have never had a bad meal here. Adam is charming and makes a point of stopping by to make sure we are enjoying everything. I have tried many things on the menu but the organic chicken is my go to favorite. Great job guys, we will keep coming back.

This place is a breath of fresh air in Jericho, a town whose food selection mostly consists of pizzerias, chinese food, and fast food chains. The place is pretty trendy-looking on the inside, with a large chalkboard displaying the specials, wine barrels along the back wall, and an industrial-looking ceiling. Their beer selection is also something most places around here are missing, featuring beers from New York breweries like Ommegang and Brooklyn Brewery as well as other domestic and international craft brews. All of the small plates I tried there were very good. The best by far is the shrimp and grits, the shrimp were seasoned and grilled perfectly and the fried cake of grits was crisp on the outside, with creamy goodness on the inside. The whole thing is topped with a creamy cajun sauce that really adds a lot of flavor. The coq au vin ragu was great, and the meatballs were really good though the bread on the bottom got pretty soggy from the sauce. The flatbread with gorgonzola, pancetta, walnuts, pears, and arugula was definitely the most "shareable" of the small plates, and all of the flavors worked well together. They always feature one special and the last time I went in it was a duck cassoulet. I had never heard of a cassoulet before but I really enjoyed it. The duck was very juicy and the chunks of garlic sausage were delicious. For sides, they also have truffle oil fries, which were a little soggy but I'm a huge sucker for truffle oil so I devoured them anyway. My recommendation for eating here is to share several small plates and maybe an entree, as the plates are a little small on their own and the entrees are a little large not to share. I'll definitely be coming back here regularly!

We went to Market Bistro on Saturday night for the first time. Normally, when I see a restaurant in a strip mall or shopping center, I'm weary. Just me and a weird quirk of mine. But man, this place is nothing short of great! Food/drink: We shared the black bean avocado dip (a must have per other yelpers) and it was delicious. My fiancé had the oven chicken and I had the Norwegian cod. Best cod I think I've ever had. For desert, we shared the brownie. The homemade marshmallow was BOMB. The wine pour could have been served in a bigger glass, but they made a great dirty martini. Service: Impeccable. Our waitress was super friendly and made excellent recommendations. Ambiance: Excellent atmosphere. We really enjoyed it, very trendy. Only gripe was that later on, it started to get pretty crowded and we felt a little closed in around us between the bar crowd and the big tables. If you plan to visit I would definitely make a reservation. Overall, we will be returning. Hopefully sooner than later!

Delicious as usual. I had the chicken and my wife had the lamb chops. She said they were awesome. My all time favorite dish here was the chicken. But I'm leaning towards the pork chop now. It's incredible. Also, we're quite happy the scallops have made a return. Oh we also had a cheese platter. That was great. Love this place.

Such a great environment from the brick walls to the wine all against the bar area, the music, etc. Came here on a Thursday night at 6 pm. Made a reservation, not many people then all sudden within the hour got packed. The food is amazing. We started off with the avocado black bean dip, the tuna tartar, shrimp & grits & the wings. All of it was so so good. For entrees we ordered the linguini with mussels & clams, the MB burger & another pasta dish. My friend had the burger which was a mix of steak, beef which she seemed to love! For dessert the brownie sandwich with marshmallow in between & the bread pudding was delicious. If you don't like s'more type marshmallow, then get the bread pudding. The waiter was very nice guy, came by every so often & was very helpful. They played such good music at a perfect volume. All good things about this place. Only bad thing I could say about this place really is that they should make the sign for it pop more because it could be easily missed & needs to stand out more.

On a recent visit the food was good and reasonably priced for the quality, but bad service ruined the experience. Despite a sparse crowd, service was inattentive. Perhaps those two things are related. I can't say if the deserts are good since we weren't offered any. The front of the house seemed to be in a bad mood for some reason.

I am giving Market Bistro 3 stars because I have eaten here on many occasions and the food is incredible! I would have given it 5 stars for the first 5 or so times that I have eaten there. That being said, in the past year I have become a vegan and going out to dinner is always a challenge. Every place I have gone to thus far has been super accommodating (surprisingly even a steak restaurant) and I have not had any issues.... until now. I am so shocked that Market Bistro does not have ONE vegan option on their menu. Not only that, they weren't able to make anything for me. The waiter said their pasta contains eggs and that even their sauteed vegetables were previously marinated in chicken stock. So you mean to tell me that there is not one fresh vegetable left in the restaurant that hasn't touched chicken stock?? It was really upsetting to say the least. I was with a group of 9 and I just had to sit there and sip on a drink while everyone else enjoyed their meal. It is super sad that I cannot return here to eat because they have an incredible beer selection and the waitstaff was incredible as well.

Still great! The avocado bean dip was refreshing, the cheddar and grit tots delicious and the pork chop was cooked perfectly. Juicy and tender at the same time. The strawberry rubarb dessert is a great option for something not as chocolately. Outside seating was really nice away from the noisy crowd and we weren't forgotten!

Market Bistro is by far my favorite in the area. The food is outrageously good. Their gnocchi is outrageous and the pork sliders amazing- everything I have ever eaten there is a treat. The atmosphere is wonderful- seems like a cafe was lifted from Williamsburg and plopped in the middle of a Jericho strip mall- you forget that until you leave and turn to your left and see s marshalls - in short you are transported

Very disappointment from the beginning. The waitress that blocked our table from being sat was less than pleasant as she blocked our seats. She was then our under enthusiastic waitress. Food services was slow and then they rushed us to finish to be clear the table. To the point that the sides were removed before they were finished. Tea was taken away before it was gone and a refill was not offered. After questioning the bus boy he said there were people waiting for the table. The manager offered no concern neither did the hostess and she said the arrange for a 2 hour seating...Needless to say the place doesn't warrant a revisit.

Ordered the organic chicken skillet roasted. It's a toss up if there was more oil or more chicken served. I asked for double veggies instead of the pasta. If that was double, I'd hate to think what a single portion is. It really didn't matter because the menu listed the veggies as 'jarnidere vegetables' but it was a few kernels of corn. The veggies were swimming in the oil from the chicken (maybe they were also cooked in oil). Asked for half the chicken to take home, figuring I'd wrap it in a paper towel to blot up the oil. Never got the take-home bag! Nothing healthy on the menu. Right now I have a pool of oil swimming around inside me like a foreign invader. I only had three bites of the chicken and one fork-full of corn. Horrible :-(

I've been wanting to go to this restaurant for a while now since I saw their farm fresh, seasonally established menu. I love restaurants that really take pride in the quality of food and drinks that they serve and market bistro exceeded all of my expectations. The service was superb from the moment I called for a reservation to then arriving and having the owner and hostess great me. Our waitress Christie was very polite and knowledgable in her suggestions. Even the Jorge who cleared our table was pleasant. Bottom line: food and service was amazing definitely would come again.

If I was just rating it based on decor, interior, and all that jazz I would give it 5 stars because when I walked inside, I could not believe I was in Jericho. This place is the epitome of hip and trendy. But, it started losing its stars when I sat down. The service was incredibly slow, I don't know if it was because me and my group were significantly younger than the other people in the restaurant, but it was weird because everyone was being served much more quickly than we were. I don't think our food took a long time to make either. I think we waited around 30 minutes for main dishes. Then the food, some of it was delicious like the salmon, but some items were less than stellar and I was confused at how they all came out of the same kitchen. We didn't try a lot of plates, so I can't say much more, but I think before you come here you should really read other user's reviews to find out what dishes are good and what aren't because there is a great gap between the two. TIP: if you are confused about where this place is because I think it may be confusing it is in the plaza that contains the Jericho Deli, Funcrafts, La Dolce Vita, and Marshalls.

Everything on the menu is fresh and local and delicious! They do not freeze anything. Great selection from the bar - even the freshly made bar chips. The tastiest salads, entrees and desserts. You can tell the chef puts love into every dish that goes out. The atmosphere is super cool. The service is consistently friendly and accommodating. You'll want to make reservations. They book up quickly because they're so good!

Had a delicious meal with a friend at Market Bistro last week. Although the indoor space looked nice, there was a band playing and we wanted to be able to talk so we sat outside. (I have to say, the band sounded great!) Although the outdoor space is right next to the parking lot, they have done a great job using planters and furniture to make it seem like a great environment. We shared a delicious beet salad and then two appetizers, the tuna and the flat bread. The produce and fish were fresh, and the flavors all worked together to make delicious plates of food. The service was helpful, friendly and efficient. I will definitely be returning to Market Bistro again!

Market Bistro is awesome! The food is really good. The menu changes daily. For appetizer I had the tuna tartare which is awesome. The Short Rib for main course is sooo tasty. For dessert I had the creme brûlée which is my favorite. My wife usually gets whatever their daily soup of the day is. The cauliflower soup is delicious. The service is excellent as well. The dining staff and hostess were very helpful when we dined. We went with our friends who brought their 6 mo baby. They accommodated us well. Highly recommend you try Market Bistro!

My husband and I went to MB based on the recommendations here. We were looking for something different from the usual places in our neighborhood and this fit the bill: Great atmosphere, good wait staff, tasty food. I liked the farm to table concept and the drinks offerings were nicely composed, something for everyone. Plus they served Dogfish Head beer so that's always a bonus. As for the food, my husband ordered the burger and I ordered the special, based on our waitress' recommendation (soft shell crabs). My husband said the burger was good and it came with a cone of shoestring fries, which were tasty but oddly salt-less. My soft shell crabs (2 to the entree dish) was on the small side but absolutely delicious. It was served with a smear of avocado mousse and this fantastic sauce, some kind of citrus hollandaise-tasting concoction that made me want to literally lick the plate clean. It was that good. But it did not come with any kind of side so it left me feeling a little cheated for the $26 I paid. One more crab on the dish or an accompaniment, to me, would have made a more well-rounded "entree." Overall, we were very pleased with our new find and will return. One downside: The prices were a bit high and I know people say that's what you pay for locally-sourced, quality ingredients. However, I do think you should get a bit more of those ingredients for the price that they charge.

The philosophy of local farmers providing food for restaurants is one that is spreading, and the ones who really benefit are the ones how eat there. Everything was fresh tasting, great combos, most you may have had before, but just done right. Market Bistro's other policy is they way it is on the menu is the way it will be on your table. No substitutions or alterations. Some may have a problem with that, but why? The meal in front of you is intended to be the chef's vision, so don't you think they know better than you or me? Place has a real cool feel, looking for that trendy crowd I'm sure. Decor resembles a great wine bar, or even a scotch cigar bar (minus the smoke of course). Very unassuming considering it is nearly hidden in a nondescript run of the mill strip mall. They all kind of blend together in Nassau. But trust me, this one is worth it! From "snacks" to main dishes, to small plates, they have it all, plus some of the better beers from Brooklyn and Greenport Harbor Brewing and everywhere in between. You will not be disappointed!

I knew we would eventually get back to Market Bistro for dinner- there's only so long before the mad Russian gets the hankering for some good tuna tartar. Before going out to check out some jazz in hicksville, we chose to come back to this restaurant- partly from its proximity to the jazz night and partly to that delicious tartar that she was itching for. We were seated right away even tho we were a good fifteen minutes early- a plus in my book. The restaurant was packed as was the bar, our preferred seating arrangement for all but the most romantic meals. Tables of varying capacities make for a full dining room, and the noise level matches the abundance of tables. Aside from the really excellent tuna tartar, we also tried the chilled calamari salad that was better than average. I usually prefer the have larger strips or rings of calamari, but it was still good. Also on the agenda were the mussels and the lamb sliders- Plump meaty mussels served hot are hard to beat. As for the sliders, my only complaint was that there were not two more that would accompany the pair that came. And because I couldn't get enough, I had Duck gnocci to finish. All of the food was excellent and you finish this up with good service, good martinis, riesling and a last minute cup of coffee, and you have a really nice meal. Try it and you wont be disappointed here. I promise!!!

Upset that I just recently discovered this place. The food is unique, fresh, and absolutely delicious. I don't know many other places you can get Venison in Long Island. I ordered the lamb ragu which had olives, goat cheese, and roasted tomatoes. Delicious and full of great flavors. Had duck gnocchi as well which was cooked perfectly. For dessert I had their bread pudding (don't remember everything in it, but it was a perfect balance of sweet savory). It is a little on the pricey side, but you can do what I did and get a three course meal from the price fix menu for only $30. Bonus points for having a great selection of beers.

I am BLOWN AWAY! i was driving past MARKET BISTRO tonight on my way home from work. It looked really interesting with the flames outside so i jumped out of my car just to "peek" in. It looked good, really kinda cool. i thought hhhmmm i think I want to try this place. I came home and decided to look it up on line, THEN i was blown away. Reading the reviews I noticed something I had NEVER seen before, ever. The owner Adam was answering reviews. He was obviously reading posts and replying and taking an active interest in his establishment. I was SO IMPRESSED. I have never seen that before and my husband and I eat out everywhere, all the time. I was really happy to see that. It means he cares about what his customers think. Finally, a serious business owner who really gives a hoot about his customers and what they think. An owner who understands the concept of putting the customer first. These are the good old fashioned values that are missing so often these days in ALL types of businesses. I think its not all about FLUFF and obnoxious , all about me, take my selfie attitudes with this guy. He has restored my faith in better business practices. I've never been to market bistro and of course never met Adam but I can tell you, I WILL be coming in soon and looking forward to a really nice evening with my husband and probably a couple of our friends. After all, its already starting out with a few stars from me. Thanks Adam :) Sincerely, Denise

I was quite enthused to try Market Bistro; They have a well put together website, and their menu looked great, as did the decor. My wife and I had a reservation for a Saturday night, and we were seated right away despite the vast majority of the tables being full. The staff was friendly and seemed to genuinely want to be helpful. We were put at a small table for two which shared bench seating with adjacent tables. Our table had to be moved in order for me to sit down, and even then it was hard to squeeze through without jostling our neighbors (and I'm not a terribly large person). Between that and the hard surfaces of the walls and ceiling, polite conversation was nearly impossible. It's a great venue for a raucous party of basketball fans (of which there were a few), but not for a romantic or even friendly tête-à-tête. The service was reasonably smooth, but certainly not doting. It took quite a long time for a water glass to be refilled, and bread took as long to come out as appetizers at comparable restaurants. Their martinis are excellent. My wife had an "A Perfect Pear", which was smooth, fruity, but not overly sweet. The food on the other hand gets a resounding "meh" from me. The baby beet salad was good, but nothing earth shattering. The duck gnocchi, which sounded fantastic on the menu, was merely decent. It was disappointing because I love all of the ingredients, but their preparation was lackluster. The local sea scallops dish was bland and uninspired. I love risotto, mushrooms, asparagus and most anything truffled. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the chef accidentally left out the black truffles entirely. There was no truffle taste at all. The risotto was underdone to my taste (but perhaps that's the chef's personal choice), and the mushrooms certainly didn't pop. The scallops themselves were, again, just "good". I've had better and I've had worse. The red wine braised short ribs were quite tasty, but similar to what you could get at many other restaurants. We also had the marinated olives with the bread course. My wife liked them a lot, but for me they were too al dente. I really wanted to like Market Bistro. On paper it's a great restaurant. But a crowded and noisy dining room, languid service, and food that scores high only on the "meh" scale leaves me dissatisfied. It's not a bad place by any means, but with so many other restaurants in the area it's not worth a second visit. If you want to try it for yourself, go early or mid-week to avoid the crowds, and stick to the tried and true menu items. PS - The only thing that might drag me back is the mb (sic.) burger. It's something that sounds otherworldly on paper, composed as it is of dry aged rib eye, kobe brisket, and short rib. Before visiting the restaurant I wanted to try the burger based upon its descriptive merits. Now having been there, I want to try it out of morbid curiosity to see just how blandness could possibly be forced upon the ingredients.

I've eaten there several times and the food is always amazing, the menu is always changing and I never have a complaint. The menu has something for everyone. They take traditional salads and add their own twist to it. The meats are all cooked to perfection, they have really done a great job!

The concept of farm to table is not novel, but certainly is in Nassau County. My wife and I dined here with another couple - Saturday night, 9pm reservation and the place was packed - but our table was ready for us upon arrival. This was an excellent start. The menu has snacks, starters and entrees. We started with the olive "snack" for the table - and imho, they were somewhat of a waste. I guess you can't really do too much with a cup of olives. I'm also not sure how olives fit in to the farm to table thing, since olives are not locally sourced anywhere near Long Island. My wife and I split the carrot soup - which was thick, and definitely finished with cream. It was topped with a little bit of oil and some thinly sliced radish, which gave a nice crunch. I'd highly recommend. Our friends ordered the beet salad, which was large enough for 2 - they both seemed to enjoy it. I had the scallop entree and my wife ordered the short ribs. Mine came atop a root vegetable medley (which was a little undercooked) and the short rib came atop some pasta (which my wife said was extremely al dente). The scallops were expertly prepared, fresh and sweet. The short rib was also well prepared and was fork tender. I would not have ordered the lemon meringue pie - I would have opted for the gingerbread sundae - but I posted a picture of the pie. It's deconstructed with the meringue on the side. The overall consensus was that it was a little too tart and the 4 of us did not finish it. Market Bistro carries several local beers on tap. As for wines, there were a bunch of reds and whites by the glass and most bottles were under $50. I would have liked to have seen more local wine - LI or Finger Lakes - but to no avail. For a table of 4, with one drink apiece, 2 appetizers, one snack and one dessert, the price was $120/couple including gratuity. Definitely on the expensive side for Nassau, but not a stuffy atmosphere. Overall, there were definitely some flaws - perhaps these kinks will be ironed out as the restaurant gets more established. Nassau County needs more restos like Market Bistro. There is a ton of potential and I'm looking forward to going back.

If truth be told, I just don't get it. Why all the fuss. I think that the only reason I got a prime time Saturday night reservation was because it was the 2nd night of Passover. When I looked at open table that afternoon it showed the restaurant fully booked. While we were having dinner - between 7:30 and 9 - there were plenty of open tables. Why the deception? Our server was a professional and seemed to know the menu. Meal was good but not exceptional. The lady at the table next to mine asked to have her salad chopped - the kitchen said no. Maybe I am just getting too old.... On a very positive note, the desserts were great.

First off, I think the food is terrific. I had a pork osso buco with baby carrots and polenta and my wife had the rack of lamb. Both were awesome but the pork osso buco should have had quite a bit more of the polenta (which was tasty). I think the high price of the food is because it is locally sourced and it shows in the freshness of what Market Bistro served. I loved the atmosphere of Market Bistro and found the service to be decent. Drinks are very expensive but good. Two drinks and meals with small plate came to $130.00.

I had read good reviews on this neighborhood eatery and dropped in with my husband on the spur of the moment on a Thursday night. The ambience is nice and cozy with a beautiful bar. We were first seated at a booth (only one side) and I sank so low into the banquette that we had to change tables. My chair was opposite the bar, and I was distracted throughout the meal by the wide-screen TVs showing various sports round-ups. (why must we always have to watch TV when we are dining out?). We both ordered French onion soup first. Tasteless, soggy from being over-filled with bread, and short on onion. A big disappointment. I've had better soup at local diners. As my husband said, "If the soup isn't good, that doesn't bode well for the rest of the meal." My husband's "mb burger" arrived lukewarm, as were the French fries. He did not send them back, but ate the burger off the bun, without much gusto. I ordered a "small" of the coq au vin. It was a bit salty, but tasty. Be sure you like funghi if you order this dish -- it's loaded with them (much more than chicken). Service was fine. The food was really unremarkable, and we felt the prices were a bit high. Considering our lack of enthusiasm for our meals, we felt a bit ripped off. We won't be going back.

Has the feel of being in a hip neighborhood even though it's not in one. Overall service was good. Wait staff is attentive. They have a unique menu and a nice balance of small and large plates. One notable point is that the food looks better than it tastes. Not that it tastes bad, it's that the presentation is on point. Nice selection of wine and craft beers. I love any place that offers beer sampler/flight. Good place to dine with friends or go on a date. Definitely worth a try since it's way cooler than anything else in Jericho/Hicksville.

We luv returning to Market Bistro in Jericho..We are welcomed by Laura who is the sweetest young lady. Our needs are always accomodated, I request a larger table to hold all the food I order...actually I'm large and need the space! The drinks are great and you get what you pay for...a nice buzz to make the days tribulations fade away. The Duck Pate is great as are the hamburgers; cooked to perfection. The Mussels were incredible!! Our server Cassie is wonderful and we feel well taken care of by all. The vibe is great and makes eating there very comfortable. We recommend it..you have to try it!

Went for lunch and had a terrific salad with a nice glass of wine. Fresh ingredients and a relaxing lunchtime atmosphere will make this a go to place for me. The decor is modern (Manhattanish) and the service is just fine. It was not busy when we were there, so I cannot comment on the busy evening service. The restaurant is worth a try. As an update, we've gone several times for dinner and always loved the food. Despite the following negative, I still recommend the restaurant fairly highly. But management has to crack down on servers socializing. I was never asked about another beverage (the glass sat empty), and it was difficult to both get and pay the check, as the waitress was too busy chatting forever with the hostess. Were the waitstaff up to par it would be a definite 4 stars.

I had a reservation here for a Friday night for 2. The res was for 8:00 P.M. We arrived around ten to eight. There were tables for two open. We waited for forty minutes. FORTY MINUTES. Let that sink in. Then think about if you want to go there. We waited it out, and that's our fault. But, you know how it is: you want to try a place, the hostess says it'll be a few minutes past your reservation time, and the place is crowded and popular, so, you go with it. You're cool. And by the time let's say, oh, twenty minutes have passed, well, you're invested. You've spent time here. Time that has sucked, but time nonetheless, and now you're swirling in the restaurant vortex of, "if we leave, where will we go? Prime time on a Friday? In Jericho? Where there aren't many great places to get a bite?", plus you have that kind of grim sense of, "let's just see how bad this can get," while hoping, secretly, and beyond all reason, that it will get better. It didn't. And the food wasn't worth it, either. By the time the hostess, who we had patiently reminded several times of our presence (not that she could miss us, we were standing next to her podium the whole time) seated us, with an apology, but I didn't care about that at that point, it was at a table that had been unoccupied for at least fifteen minutes. LIke I said before, there were other tables for two open around the dining room. The restaurant was crowded, and the only reason I could think of for the hostess not seating us sooner was that she didn't want to "slam" (restaurant speak for seating too many tables in a single servers' section) anyone, but, forty minutes past a res time? Inexcusable. My friend had steak, I had a burger. My friend said the steak was fine; my burger was not. I don't order burgers often, and so when it arrived and I started eating it, I wondered exactly what was wrong with it; it was overcooked (medium well instead of medium rare so...yeah. But it had been too long of a wait for me to send it back, and I ate about half of it), but, there was this...dryness to it. And then I realized: it's just a burger with a bun. No lettuce, no tomato, no cheese (which I guess is fair, because the menu didn't indicate it was a cheeseburger, but it also didn't include the option for cheese, which, had it done so, I would have ordered a slice), no onions. Just, a burger. With a bun. WEIRD, right? The fries were pretty good, and they saved this place from a one star. I like good french fries. The service was weird; the waitress was not friendly, and she was gone for long periods of time. Market Bistro is very eh in my book. I will not make it a point to go back.

Pretty young woman in tight dreds greets us and seats us. First bit is an arugula salad incredible fresh, crisp delicious.Everything local and scratch made including the butter. We were very impressed. My only complaint is the bar area kind of leans into the dining area and we sat on the rail separating the two.

My 2nd time here. I love that the menu items are all well thought out. Every dish seems original. On my 2nd visit I had the crispy duck over frisée salad. Excellent and I usually don't order duck. Entree was local skate over mushrooms and spinach. Again excellent. Dessert apple crisp. 3 for 3. Would definitely come back again and I'm from queens.

Food was excellent, though portions were small for the price we paid. The boar is osso bucco was the perfect example. Even the desserts, though homemade, were small in size. The spicy chocolate ice cream was incredible.

Just discovered this place, its so hidden in the back of the shopping center, but my friend had heard about it for a while. The decor is awesome inside. The bar is so fantastic! Huge high ceilings and very modern, you feel like you are in a NYC restaurant. The best thing we ate were the arancini bites. We also split the spinach ravioli, calamari salad and side of mushrooms. They were all just ok. I really really really wanted to love everything, but nothing really did it for us.

Great atmosphere, food and most staff. Its just as popular as when it opened and for good reason. Keep changing the beer menu.

i love this place! although a bit difficult to find... One of the few, if not, the only farm to table restaurant in Nassau County! finally! In addition, they serve a wide variety of small plates came here for a celebration dinner after a long day. The decor, with the chalkboard and the changing menu- a surprise every time. Really enjoyed the mussels, tuna tartare and the arugula salad. As for dessert, we got the warm chocolate cake- yum! The service was excellent. can't wait to go back.

So, we went here on my birthday and we had a nice dinner. We had a waiter that seemed to be his first day. We might have even been his first customer. Overall it was pretty nice. We decided to come back. We did and it was quite busy. We got a table and the manager (or perhaps it is the owner) came over ad brought us a complimentary appetizer. My entree was fine but I would suggest avoiding the lobster roll. It was not so good. We decided to go back there tonight. It was after 9:00, maybe 9:20. We went in and the place seemed to be still serving. There were a fair amount of customers and a packed bar. We recognized our server from the first visit who greeted us and he seemed quite happy to see us. I asked if they were still serving. He said yes and went to grab some menus. The manager/owner came rushing over making hand gestures to the waiter barking "no!" he looks to us and says at they closed at 9:00. We left and we decided not to go back. We felt like we were practically thrown out of this place tonight and I am actually kind of upset that I recommended this place to friends. We left and decided not to go back. We wound up at our sushi place where they happily accommodated us even though it was after hours there as well. We're done with market bistro.

Four stars? Really?!? Average food & below average desserts. The pizzette was the highlight of the meal. We ordered the "Dip", "Shrimp", "Steak", banana Choc bread pudding, & the espresso waffle. All were average at best. The shrimp were not properly cleaned & tasted like they came from the freezer. Bread pudding was served cool, not warmed. We really like its sister restaurant, West End Cafe, which has much better food!

Honestly I would give four stars, but I feel that I need to offset lots of bad ratings that Market Bistro doesn't deserve. I am a regular now, been there probably ten times or more and I really have enjoyed their food, service, urban-warehouse deco and cool atmosphere. Their fancy modern American-bistro style dishes are hard to find on Long Island. Makes me feel like I am in a Manhattan restaurant but without the city price. I like to get little jar of pickles, cheese board, lamb sliders, or pizzette as appetizers. For main dish I have gotten organic chicken, short ribs, pork chop, lamb shank, and burgers- all of which were good. Another thing that grabs my attention is that they source their food from local farms. On their website they list the duck farm, chicken farm, pork farm, produce farm, pickle makers, bread makers, etc. It feels great to know where your food comes from and that you are supporting local farms by eating here.

Again, thank you Yelp reviewers! This restaurant was less than 5 minutes from our hotel, and I had a horrible lunch that day at Bertucci's so after a long day, we were looking for something special. I hate chain restaurants so viewing the reviews and website, it looked like Market Bistro was a good choice. Here is what we had: Little Pink Dress- delicious and tasted like a berry Popsicle New England Clam Chowder- A special of the day, and after tasting it, said it was the best version I have ever had, ever, anywhere Arancini- disappointed, I love mushrooms but they needed A LOT more salt Mac n' Cheese with rock shrimp- another daily special. Hot and cheesy, but WAY to much tarragon. Kinda ruined the dish b/c the shrimp were perfect and the seasoning just gave a bad aftertaste Mussels- undercooked a bit but pretty good. Again, could of used more salt or additional seasoning Flatbread- waitress recommended but I was not a fan. The tastes were good, but the flatbread got soggy Carrot Cake- freaking delicious No room for a proper entree after all of that! The ingredients were fresh but I think they could add a little more in layering the flavors. Service was good and I would go back to try other dishes

This restaurant deserves 2 1/2 stars. Went on the recommendation of a friend who ate dinner at MB, I ate lunch. My mother and I shared the beet salad, which was beautifully executed, properly dressed (not overly!) and seasoned. The disappointment came with the roast salmon (too salty) and the crabcake sandwich (also too salty). Otherwise well prepared and plated, a lot less salt (or leave some on the table for diners to add on their own) and the dishes would have been terrific. The desert was the warm chocolate cake, which also had salted caramel ice cream. Seems the chef is partial to salt. The service was friendly and efficient -- actually very charming! I will give it a second chance for dinner. Maybe go for the chicken or steak!

Nice setting. Good service. My party had the burgers and they were great. The restaurant was busy on a Sunday night and everyone seemed happy. Will be back again to try some other dishes.

Have been here a few times, and am always happy. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food is tasty, but the desserts are excellent. Try the root beer float and the ice cream (especially the salted caramel ice cream)! I like that they use regional foods and therefore the menu changes seasonally. My duck was a tad salty one time, but every other dish I've ordered has been delicious. I absolutely recommend coming here for a nice evening out.

Total disappointment! Try ordering anything on the menu that's not exactly as listed, it's not possible, they premake it all, like the airport. Such posers, this place is a fake.

Finally, an elegant place neighborhood restaurant with a bustling bar scene! Love the atmosphere here, looks like it could easily be transplanted to Manhattan. Went on a Tuesday night around 9pm and the place was packed, which totally surprised me given that this town goes to bed early on weekdays. I'm a huge fan of small plates, so Market Bistro doesn't disappoint. Had the figs wrapped in prosciutto and drizzled with balsamic, yum! Also had the duck gnocchi, this was good but I'll probably order something different next time. They have a great selection of craft beers on draft, and also a nice selection of wines by the glass. I 'm looking forward to many more visits, where I can just sit at the bar, order a glass, and try out more of their small plates.

From the owners of West End Cafe in Carle Place comes this new addition to the North Shore restaurant scene, Market Bistro. Its is located in the back of the Whole Foods shopping center, out of sight from N. Broadway. Don't let that stop you. Everything about this place is excellent. From the warm and inviting decor, to the very friendly waitstaff, and the food... fu get about it! The wedege salad was fantastic, as was the strip steak and the burger w blue cheese. The fries were also great. Do yourself a favor and check this place out! You will be glad you did!

Great combination of excellent food, nice atmosphere, not overly expensive. Just the kind of restaurant that we like to go to once a month. Way better than an average restaurant, but not a "special occasion" restaurant.

Don't let the strip mall surroundings fool you, this is one of the best restaurants on the island! The food here is amazing. It's a farm-to-table concept, so everything is very fresh. I love the open feel of the restaurant, and the rustic yet modern decor. I've had the lamb sliders, which were deliciously juicy, as well as their burger and some of their salads. Everything was astounding, including their celery flavored sorbet. Live a little, try something different! Great wine selection. The only downside is that the service can be a little stiff and unfriendly, but they get the job done.

Six of us went for a birthday. Everything was delicious. Highlights were the beet salad and short ribs. they were very accomodating in terms of switching the sides and our group did a lot of mixing and matching. The service was good. Only problem is it is very loud.

First time here was great. Superb local farmer supplied ingredients and a friendly waitstaff both came together for an exceptional meal. Dessert was good but could have been a little better. Would go here again for dinner.

The atmosphere at Market Bistro is definitely upbeat and electric. The food and service on the other hand leave a lot to be desired. The wait staff seemed to be very unorganized and inattentive to my requests. I asked for the octopus salad which was tasty but where was the octopus. The salad came with one piece of octopus no larger than my pinkie finger. I am sure they can afford to do better especially after the price that they charge for the salad. My main course was a tasteless chicken dish. Maybe I caught them on a bad night. I am not sure that I would return.

Stumbled upon this restaurant while shopping in the strip that it is located in. The food was delicious and the decor was perfect..not too over the top like some new LI places. I had the risotto and my husband had the steak. We had a salad too that was good. We don't go out that often, but when we do I like to go to places like this. We had a drink at the bar first then had dinner and dessert and then another drink at the bar. It was a great experience from start to finish!
